Our Partners around the World
WorldServe is actively working with a number of indigenous partner organizations around the world. Through these partnerships we are having a direct impact on 22,000 churches and Christian leaders and an indirect impact on more than 3 million believers. God is at work in powerful ways around the world!
One of our church planting pastors in Mojo, Ethiopia, is Abebe Bira. Abebe shepherds a small church of 50 in this growing community. Abebe came to Christ and immediately began preparing to become a pastor/evangelist. When asked what he did before he accepted Christ, he replied that he was a corrupt politician. However, a friend invited him to church. The day he attended church, Abebe Bira received Christ and walked away from his old life.
Pastor Jose in Jovellanas, Cuba, struggled to financially support the ministry of the church in a town where 90 percent of the residents are unemployed, a byproduct of the demise of the sugarcane industry. When he heard about the micro-business program, his church members applied for small loans to start businesses. As a result, over 20 congregation members now have seven businesses that support the church and fund evangelism to the community. They have been in need of a new church building for years and now have the resources from these businesses to build the church without outside help. One business is also an outreach that has opened a pizzeria, which sells pizza and provides opportunities to share Jesus.
These are just a couple of vignettes of how our partners around the world are making a difference for God and good around the world. Much of this could not
happen without your faithful partnership!
